Unfortunately it's not made by Pentax. It will be interesting to see how much of a difference that little red dot will make with regard to successful sales. Oh, and all those little bits that the original MX should have had to insure success. Things like a hot shoe and optical viewfinder accessory. If the X2 is successful it will be a slap in the face to Pentax; a huge embarrassment. Price aside, because that red dot adds a huge premium, if the X2 sells well it will be an example of how Pentax missed the boat again with the whole "retro" thing.
I believe that a hot shoe, optional optical viewfinder, with the existing tilting screen would make an MX-2 more attractive than the X2. Of course, it would be just like Pentax to release an MX-2 with a hot shoe and optical viewfinder accessory but get rid of the tilting screen.
