Bumblebee
Posted By: flugfiske, 07-23-2016, 06:21 AM

Yesterday I was shooting again after two weeks "doctors order" pause (I sprained my ankle quite badly). Well, ankle did not like the walk, but my head and camera enjoyed the whole time (lying still is just not my cup of tea...)

I like how your first shot shows the folding tongue of these long-tongued bumbles. Thistles are a great draw for bees (which is why the invasive Teasel is rampant here in the US).

Where are you located?

Thank you, the first pic is taken on a red clover, about 100 meters from my home, here in Nurmijärvi, Finland. House on the left is my house, an the pic is taken on the side of the road to my home, right about there, where road turns left https://www.google.fi/maps/@60.4952613,24.8282876,150m/data=!3m1!1e3

Pretty cool, looks like a good area with a border along the woods.

Here's my place:

You'd be amazed at what a few small gardens can attract - being near the river helps.

One new spot I'm monitoring this year is in the middle of the Tevatron. That's pretty cool.
