K-1 vs K3, which is which

Below 4 different versions of the same photo, taken with both K3 and K1 equivalent with 300mm (K3, K1 cropped mode, K1 post cropped) or 450mm K1 FF mode, same lens and same manual setting used in all cases (Tripod mounted, f5.6, ISO400).

Well, it may be that the resolution on the printing of the box is way coarser than the resolution of any of these combinations, in which case we don't learn a whole lot...

And if the posted images are the whole frame, we'll learn even less given the resolution the forum web pages are served at.

Okay, I guess I get it: Judging from the waste bin symbol, images #2 and #4 look a little sharper. For most practical purposes, however, and certainly for my personal photography, whatever it may or may not amount to, those differences strike me as almost ... well ... negligible? The IQ gain from APS-C to FF is somewhat overrated IMO.

Just in case: Don't get me wrong, I trust the K-1 will turn out to be an awesome photography tool.

I guess the test would be more interesting if done at high ISO, sai 6.400 ISO. In that case the difference will be huge

No, you could also read the text of the post. All images are cropped to the size of the label, about 70% of APSC crop. The differences are visible here.

Nice. Now do the same with shots that illustrate DOF or bokeh. Also throw in Pixel Shift.

I am just guessing based on me taking a screenshot and lifting shadows to see noise pattern. 1 and 3 seem more organic and might be K1.

My guess is that you have a 32GB SDHC card from Transcend that is made in Taiwan.

From what I see, they all look really great. I can't really say anything else. Not even one of these stands out as soft, fringing, with CA, distorted, bad. Just goes to show how great both of those cameras are

Wow, that's an interesting thought! Never thought that print media might be a bad choice for such tests, at least in macro range

By the looks of it, I'd guess it that the package was a 2-color job (black and red) instead of a 4-color process (CMYK mixed with dots much like a Bayer array) with a relatively coarse line screen of 150 lines per inch. And It's likely a 32GB Transcend SDHC card made in Taiawan.

But that's only a guess.

Your cards are too small. I have a pair of 64gb ones in the K3 and a pair of 128gb ones that will be in the K1 when UPS drops it off tomorrow.
