It went up to £1,799 here in the UK a few weeks ago. I imagine it's exchange rate fluctuations finally kicking in to the supply chain.

For the time being, here in Austria, prices haven't changed. https://www.foto-koeberl-graz.at/exo/pentax-c-1_123/?zenid=h0pfn8pu27k8mjh7luv81rm1e4

High chance it may be due to the Brexit, and the prices are starting to change/increase on certain things because of it.

Can't imagine Brexit has anything do it with it all. At the present time, Brexit is a concept and a forthcoming event with strictly no changes whatsoever in current situation, structure, trade and circulation rules for the UK within the EU. The only ill effects are psychological at this stage. Secondly, Brexit cannot explain a 200€ price hike in Denmark...

I agree, no Brexit impact - import duty rates for digital cameras across the EU (currently including UK) are zero and are not expected to change due to Brexit - whenever it may or may not happen.

Last September EUR to JPY rate was 142, now it's around 112, GBP to JPY 170 to 130.
That's a 21.1% and a 23.5% decrease respectively.
I go to Japan every year since three years ago... guess what? no camera gear for me this time :- P

Putting up prices is not a great strategy to encourage sales so it just goes to show how well priced it was originally and how tough the camera business has become. Maybe it will be reduced back down for Christmas and also that hideous US import Black Friday (second only to trick or treat). But it's difficult to see it coming down much from launch price anytime soon.

Luckily I got in just in time (well a few days late but I cut a deal).

My local store started carrying Sony mirrorless recently. I had asked them about carrying Sony in the past and they said that Sony required a minimum annual volume that was pretty high (in their opinion). When I saw they started carrying I asked about the volume again. Their pricing is locked in for the term of the contract along with the buying requirements. Short term currency fluctuations don't have am impact on the pricing. Maybe Ricoh is different, but my guess is that Ricoh can't meet demand for the K-1 due to the problems Sony is having with sensors. High demand relative to supply will always cause prices to rise. The K-1 is selling very well and the reviews have been almost completely positive. The K-1 was/is an excellent value for the money. It was arguably under priced relative to the D810 and the Sony A7rII. Given the features, build quality, & image quality it probably should have been a $2,300+ camera at launch.

The price of K-1 at the factory door, paid by the Distributor (in Yen), has not changed.

The cost of Yen to the Distributor (Pentax Europe) in Euro has changed dramatically in recent months as the price of Yen has risen.

The retail store price by country is a function of the Distributor price (in Euro) + EU VAT rate + individual country and local (if any) VAT rate plus greed where applicable.

I paid almost $2,000 for my K-1 in a B&M store including 9.37875% Sales Tax. But they put a 64GB Lexar card, small Kenko flash, travel tripod and a Rocket Blower 'In the Bag'.

Still $1796.00 USD here in the states. I'm curious about the spread relative to the D810 and 5DM4 in other countries. In the States, a D810 is $2800 and a 5D4 is $3500. I wonder if the % difference in those currencies is reflected in the new prices relatively?
