I need some rear lens caps.... ones that work! Not the kind that fit loosely and come off in my hand when I handle the lens. I have a box full of odds and ends, but I'm fed up with messing with them. Last summer, I bought some from a vendor on eBay and they were terrible. Basically worthless. So, I took a chance and bought a bag of 5 from another vendor and they are superb! Trouble is, I forgot who the seller was! I need more of them and I'm reluctant to just buy from an unknown source. I searched high and low and can't find any like this. The ones that work great looked like this.... very distinctive, with their design on the back. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If you bought them on ebay check your account there. I think purchases are retained for three years or so.

And if you find that vendor again post it here please, I would love some good working ones as well.

Will do, John. These are the ONLY ones I've found that are worth a hoot. They fit good and snug, with a positive effort needed to remove them. I seen several on eBay.... not like these, but similar.... but you have to order them from China and I REFUSE to do that! Just a personal pet peeve of mine.

Because the shipping stays at $3.00 even if you increase the amount. I just bought 10 caps and shipping was $3.18, so $1.27 each. If they work that's a bargain. The last ones I bought on ebay about half were worthless, of the rest some work perfectly others sort of work too much variablity.

I just replaced all of my crappy Tamron rear caps with these. Fit snug, and get the job done on the cheap.

Op Tech rear caps are a bit expensive @ $16 from B&H, however they have a rubber seal that presses against the mount to keep out dust, and it also holds the cap on gently but securely. They aren't as convenient as genuine Pentax rear covers because the latter can be put on without aligning the cap with the red-dot on the lens, whereas the Op Tech there's a ridge (mark it with a little white paint) that must be lined up with the lens' red-dot.

Last year i bought 2 sets (8 parts) from jinfinance (known for their split-screens).

They seem to be original Pentax parts (also with the flange to protect the A contacts).
When I ordered, they had several hundreds on stock, today it seems there are only 5x4=20 of them left.

6 dollars seems like a small price to pay to protect high dollar glass.

Those look beautiful! I'm definitely getting some of those.

I bought some cheapo China rear lens caps that looked like they were original Pentax. They were only a couple of bucks each so I bought about 10 of them. They sucked. They were a little too tight.

Does anyone know of those lens/body cap combos for pentax that work like the Canon ones and lock together? Those would be really useful
