Hot shoe adapter... hacking way

Hi all,
I was going to buy the Aputure Amaran Halo AHL-HN100 and then realized that it is Nikon only. There is another version for Canon only. I have searched for hot shoe adaptor and only found a multi brand adapter to Sony flash from Neewer.

Could I just cut my remote flash wire and connect to the ring flash to make it work? Is that a case of different pin position with NC an NO contacts or a complex voltage difference and electronic communication?

Yeah, I love DIY...
