Sony RX1 compact camera w/FF sensor, Zeiss 35mm f2 lens, Leaf shutter

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Sony RX1 Full-Frame compact camera - New/Factory Recertified

Asking Price
1690 USD

Item Location
Indianapolis, IN (United States)

Item Description
I have a new, factory-recertified Sony RX1 for sale. Sony has crammed their top-performing Full Frame sensor into this compact camera, and fixed it with a Carl Zeiss Sonnar 35mm f2 lens. I have not used the camera, and I opened the box only to verify the contents and to take pictures of the camera.

The camera comes with a 90-day Sony warranty, but within 60 days you can call Sony and purchase an extended 2, 3, or 4-year warranty ($79, $99, $129).

I'm asking $1690 shipped in the US. However, if you pay with a money order or with Chase QuickPay, I will discount the price to $1640, which is much less than you'll find a recertified RX1 anywhere else.

I can take PayPal, but it's not my preference. (My wife uses our PayPal account for her small business, and last year our taxes were a nightmare since I had a lot of transactions from my photography, home theater, and audio hobbies mixed in with her business transactions.)

**Chase QuickPay is a free service that Chase bank offers for sending/receiving money. There are no fees, and you don't have to have a Chase bank account to use it...it works with any bank account. It functions similar to PayPal, in that it uses email addresses linked with bank accounts. If you've been looking for an alternative to PayPal and feel like you've paid them enough fees over the years, you should really try it out. Here's a page with more information:

For now, I'm only offering the camera to US buyers, as I'm not totally comfortable shipping something this expensive to a foreign destination.

Price lowered!

This is a camera that had an MSRP of $2800 last year. It has an amazing 24MP Sony FF sensor. A beautiful Carl Zeiss F2 wide-angle lens. A leaf shutter. And it fits easily in a jacket pocket.

Why does anybody sell anything? Because I need the money more than I need the camera right now.

Were you interested in the camera?

Final price drop before I pull the ad. I just took $100 off the price, so this is by far the best price on this amazing camera.

To put things in perspective, DxoMark rated the FF sensor in the RX1 well above the Canon 5D Mark III and almost tied with the Nikon D800:
