Vivitar 75-205mm ƒ/3.8 Macro Focusing Zoom

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Vivitar 75-205mm ƒ/3.8 Macro Focusing Zoom

Asking Price
40.00 USD

Item Location
Rochester, NY (United States)

Item Description
This is the Kiron lens that some say should have been a Series 1. It is the later one-touch model, and it will fit onto Pentax DSLRs without modification. The glass is in good condition; I do not see any scratches and only a little dust inside. The only thing I notice is when I hold the front in dim side light to see the reflection in the front, it appears that the coating has faded in the center compared to the edges, but that may be normal. It is not at all visible in photos or through the lens. The barrel has a few signs of wear, and the zoom does creep if held vertically. The manual focus ring and the six-bladed aperture work well.

I will include the hard case and a plastic Vivitar branded front cap. (Update - I found a spare rear cap to include.) In addition, I will also include a Vivitar 70-150 2x Matched Multiplier for P/K. It is in excellent condition, with beautiful glass. Although it was not built for this lens, it does work, and I don't have a 70-150 to go with it anyway.

(Communicator and Type I Phaser not included)

OK...where did you get the phaser and communicator? They're way cool.

The communicator is from Diamond Select, and was available several years ago at toy stores. It is more a toy than a prop, but still looks nice.

The phaser is by The Wand Company, and is a high quality prop replica (officially it is a universal remote control, but I doubt many people will actually use that feature).

Sorry they are not for sale - the Temporal Prime Directive forbids me to sell 23rd century technology in the PentaxForums marketplace.

I found a spare rear cap which I will also include. And of course, this is a full frame lens.

Yes, absolutely. It will work with any k-mount camera. It is, of course, manual focus and aperture, and will work with the green button metering.

How does it compare to the PENTAX-F 80-200mm F4.7-5.6?

I cannot compare as I have never used the F 80-200. The Vivitar is a manual lens but with a faster constant aperture. Perhaps someone else could give their opinion. I would suggest reading the reviews on the forum.
