This lens is such a rarity, it makes this listing gear porn of the highest order. You've kept this lens in outstanding condition, compliments.

I know some people might think that its too expensive, but they have to realize that this is the price of the Sigma 300mm f2.8. I for one would prefer the Pentax rendering and colors over the Sigma. Having that front filter doesn't hurt either..Good luck.

May I ask about your experience with the 2X-L converter? I've read that it is better than the more common, physically shorter teleconverters, but I have not seen many sample photos.

I thing 1.4x-L and 2x-L of the same quality. May be 1.4x-L a little better than 2x-L. But both better than 1.7x AF adapter and 1.4x-S. And this converters much better than various Vivitars, Tamrons and one dollar Albinars :-)
I wanted to try and compare new HD converter, but it is very expensive.

Sorry for off top also.
I'm leaving from Pentax to Sony (return to Minolta ) and will not buy FF camera.
But keep 31 lim and some film gear.

I have bought from kindakaa and I would buy anytime. Except now, because I do not have the money for this wonderful lens. Question: What would the MA be on a K-3 or a K3II?

Bump, these lenses are once in a couple of years (at best) purchasing opportunities. I personally own the Sigma ex 300mm f2.8 but I'd trade it for this in a heartbeat (too bad my Sigma is worth half as much) These is the kind of glass you keep for decades and pass on to progeny......

A bump and a question: Have you noticed any improvements in IQ when using drop-in polarizes of multicolored filters with your 300/f2.8 lens?
