PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
SMC Takumar-Zoom 1:6.7/135-600

Asking Price
450.00 USD

Item Location
Vancouver (Canada)

Item Description

This is a M42 screw mount version of "The Bazooka" - SMC Takumar 1:6.7/135-600 zoom. I have used it successfully on Pentax film & DX cameras, Sony NEX mirrorless digital cameras and Nikon film & FX cameras with the adapters which are included in this sale. The lens will be shipped in its' own lockable grey/silver wooden/metal box with handle & 2 keys, plus the original close up lens. This package weigh ~ 18 lbs and measure 25"X8"X7" net. Actual shipping wieight & size will be more.

Here is the link to my review with sample images:
S-M-C Takumar Zoom 135-600mm F6.7 Reviews - M42 Screwmount Zoom Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

For the gearheads who are wondering how does this big chunk of vintage metal and glass compare to the current 1**-600/6.3 zoom lenses such as Tamron SP 150-600 f/5.6-6.3 Di VC USC (see last photo for size comparsion). I reckon it has a much "richer" analog IQ, and probably still working long after the electronics and plastic gears on the current digital lenses gave up.

And I thought my 18-250 was big. Wow. It's almost worth a holiday in Vancouver just to come and check it out at first hand and take it home yourself.

Had I have not just expended my lens buying money on something else, this would already be sold. While it's not fast enough for active sports shots, there are plenty of static opportunities during most sports, even racing, when this lens could be used. And as already mentioned, it's a great lens for wildlife photography. Plus it has the added benefit of being its own work out program!

MJL, can you please post some pics of the front and rear elements? That would help your listing tremendously.

You're on my door step basically, but alas, all my currency is tied up in medical!

Whoever does end up with this will most likely be very pleased though, that's a damn impressive hunk of glass.
