Here is my favorite shot from today. A quick trip to a local Alberta Recreational Area, Chinook Lake, and have a series of loon shots from today. This shot is approximately 2/3 cropped from a shot with the 400/5.6. No post processing was applied. It does need an exposure adjustment and fine tuning the cropping.
This is a common loon pair that returns to the small lake every year, with little success lately as the lake levels seem to rise every year after they have built their nest. Loons build their nests at water level, but do not build a floating nest as do some of the grebe family. |
