Hollywood Forever.

Marlene Rasnick acted in two films and much stage, co-founded Public Works Improvisational Theatre in 1973. She was a proponent of medicinal marijuana, which she used during her battle with cancer.


Leo Diamond was an actor, composer and musician, notably on the harmonica. Compositions include Off Shore, Hold on to Your Dreams, Tijuana Border Patrol, Mediterranean Suite, Skin Diver's Suite, and Nashville Nights.


Yma Sumac was the stage name of the celebrated soprano singer from Peru. She arced through folk songs, lounge acts, and a rock album. She appears in Secret of the Incas, and Omar Khayyam.

Harry Shannon started in vaudeville, then acted in 144 films and 35 TV shows, and is best known as the alcoholic father in Citizen Kane.


Jean Howard was an actress with small roles in the 30s and 40s, but may be best known for her photography of Hollywood happenings, entitled Jean Howard's Hollywood: A Photo Memoir. Married for a time to agent/producer Charles Feldman.


Peggy Shannon was in the Follies, Broadway shows, then films. She was unsuccessfully billed as the second "it" girl (Clara Bow), but never really caught on with fans. A failing marriage, career, and alcohol led to an early heart attack.

Jack Snow played football at Notre Dame and set many records, then played for the LA Rams from 1965-75. After playing, he went into real estate, then returned to the Rams as a position coach, then a broadcaster of their games.


Frank Zamboni invented and manufactured the ice-smoothing machine familiar to hockey fans.

Mary Eaton was part of the performing Seven Little Eatons, was featured in the Ziegfeld Follies, and was in the first Marx Bros film The Cocoanuts. She had 3 alcoholic husbands and died from a bad liver.


Jeanne Carpenter was a child actor in two dozen silent movies, and had one uncredited adult role as a telephone operator in 1945's Weekend at the Waldorf.


Jimmy McLarnin was a two-time world champion boxer in the 30's. His youthful appearance earned him the nickname the Baby-Faced Assassin. His record was 54-11-3.

Larry Shay's first song was Do You, Don't You, Will You, Won't You. In 1929 he co-authored his most famous song, When You're Smiling. In the 1930s, he became MGMs music director, subsequently hiring Bing Crosby.


Fulton Burley sang tenor in the Disneyland Revue from 1962 until it disbanded in 1986. He then periodically toured and hosted live shows to promote theatrical reissues of such Disney films as Cinderella.


Hicks Lokey was an animator for cartoons in the 30s, then Fantasia, Dumbo, Scooby Doo, Godzilla, Pac Man, Smurfs, and Paw Paws.

Ron Jessie was an All-American long jumper in college, then played pro football for 3 teams over 11 years, going to the Pro Bowl in 1976. He had 265 catches for 4,278 yards and 26 TDs.


Georgette De Leon was an actress in silent movies. (No documentation).

Carleton S. Young and Noel Toy. Young appeared in The Day the Earth Stood Still, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Glenn Miller Story, The Last Hurrah, and The Horse Soldiers.


Noel Toy was a fan-dancer in the 1940s in San Francisco clubs. She appeared in The Left Hand of God, Studio 57, four episodes of MASH, and SOB.


As the newspaper editor in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Young delivered the classic line: This is the West, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.

Robert Fiske acted in 70 roles during the 30's and 40's in such films as The Devil Diamond, Hawaiian Buckaroos, The Purple Vigilantes, The Secret Code, and other B-movies.


Laurence Austin owned the country's only theater devoted solely to silent films. The theater opened in 1942, closed in 1979 and reopened in 1991 by Austin. He was killed in a robbery at the theater.


Arthur Loft acted in over 220 films including Shakedown, Ace Drummond, Women in Prison, Rosie the Riveter, Scarlet Street, and Blondie Knows Best.

George Wallace played Commander Cody in Radar Men From the Moon, and was in The Adventures of Kit Carson, Hopalong Cassidy, Forbidden Planet, Hill Street Blues, Remington Steele, and Minority Report.


Helen Parrish started acting as Babe Ruth's daughter in Babe Comes Home in 1927, and was in the Our Gang series. In her teens she was notable as a rival in several Deanna Durbin movies. She was in the first season of Leave It To Beaver.


David Tyrrell began his career on Broadway in All Quiet on the Western Front, and acted as Coach Charlie Burr in the TV sitcom Mr. Peppers. He was on The Rifleman, and in It Happened at the World's Fair.

Reta Shaw acted in movies including Picnic, The Pajama Game, Mary Poppins, Pollyanna, The Ghost And Mr. Chicken, and Escape to Witch Mountain, and on TV as the housekeeper in the Ghost and Mrs. Muir.


Earl Grant was a pianist, organist, and vocalist in the 1950s and 60s. His single, The End, rose to #7, as did his album, Ebb Tide. He appeared in Tender Is the Night, Juke Box Rhythm, and on The Ed Sullivan Show.


Tamara De Treaux was supposedly the world's shortest actress at 31 inches. She appeared in 5 movies and was used in ET The Extraterrestrial for model movement.

Curtis Benton appeared in several silent films including 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, A Stranger In His Own Home, and Scorched Wings. He also wrote 21 screenplays.


Jean Wallace was a teen model and showgirl, then acted in various B movies, had 2 suicide attempts, married and divorced Franchot Tone then Cornel Wilde, and had a tarantula and snakes as pets.


Alex Frazer acted in The Good Companions, Kidnapped, Cowboy and the Indians, Three Came Home, Loose in London, The War of the Worlds, and The Girl Can't Help It.

Luther Rabb was a singer, musician, songwriter, and the lead vocalist of the jazz rock group Ballin' Jack. They toured with Jimi Hendrix in 1970, and Rabb later played with Carlos Santana, and joined War.


Ford Sterling played the police captain in the Keystone Kops. He ran away from home to join the circus, and started his career as Keno, the Boy Clown.


He was also an accomplished photographer, painter, sculptor and cartoonist. Makeup not withstanding, he was called the best dressed man in Hollywood.

Henry Kaiser was an industrialist with the Kaiser Shipyard which built Liberty ships in WWII, Kaiser Aluminum, Kaiser Steel, Kaiser Permanente health care, and Kaiser Automobiles.


Fred Korematsu resisted relocation of Japanese during WWII, and was imprisoned. He later was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1998.


Edward Eliseian (he spelled it Elisian) was a race driver. He stopped his car during the 1955 Indy 500 to try to save Bill Vukovich who had crashed. Ed later died in a fiery crash at the Milwaukee Mile.


Francis Smith was a borax miner, business magnate and civic builder in the Mojave Desert, San Francisco Bay area, and Oakland.

Duke York was a stuntman who played most of the monsters in the Three Stooges movies in the 40's, and King Kala in the first Flash Gordon series.


Cass Daley was a band singer, but her comedy bits led her to nightclubs and radio. She was on The Fitch Bandwagon for which she was voted America's funniest comedienne. In the 1943 movie Crazy Fish, she played herself and a goofy look-alike.


Ernst Dryden was an accomplished commercial artist, particularly of posters, and a menswear designer. He was found dead by composer Bronislav Kaper after suffering a heart attack.

Francia White was an opera singer and actress. She helped launch the LA Civic Light Opera and played its first leading lady in 1938.


Art Arthur was a Broadway columnist, later with the Toronto Star. He was on CB DeMille's executive staff, and was on the board of the Writers Guild of America. He worked on the Oscar-winning documentary, Seeds of Destiny in 1946.


John Neilson acted in the TV movie Southern Fried, and in the films Honky, Terror House, Sharks' Treasure, and Judge and Jury.
