FROM THE FIRST TIME EVER THAT I TRIED TO DO A Portrait.
I had just bought the
DA 70mm lens because I had read that it was a fine portrait prime. Put the camera on a tripod, because someone had said that was the thing to do, then put it at f2.8 because someone had said that was the way to blur the background and make most of the face look soft etc.
[It was my daughter's birthday and they were having face painting done. This was a shot of one of her friends. At that time I did not even know you could post process. So this is basically what I got from the camera].
I still like this shot and a couple more like it from that day. Ever since that day, the DA 70mm has been one of my favorite lens.
