They always have that inquisitive look in the photos. I know they are very aware of our presence, as they react to any movement by us.

Jumping spiders are an abomination set upon us by some evil being. Pretty sure I'd wreck my car if one came hopping along while I was driving.

Y'all have those "writing spiders" down your way. Like this:

Wouldn't you just love to open your car door and see one of these bad boys?

{{ Apologies for this not being a Pentax shot. One of those awful cellphone pics.

You can have me horse whipped later. }}

Um. Never mind. I don't need to go anywhere after all. The spider can have the car. I needed a new one anyway...

Pretty sure this is a wolf spider. Pretty sure its the biggest spider up here being several inches across. Pretty sure I am glad that 6 months of snow kills everything off.

Taken with my K1000 and Kodak Gold 200 film, who needs fancy equipment. Had what I think was an egg sack underneath it so it wasn't going anywhere.

I think so, but I'm not sure. They build giant webs, usually right across the walking path between my place & my sister's.

When I lived in Virginia we called them writing spiders, for the squiggle they place on their web. Like the one in the picture I posted earlier here.

What's really interesting is to lower the sun visor in your car and have a huntsman spider drop from behind the sun visor into your lap when you're wearing shorts. One of these.

It happened to me when I was in the passenger collection queue at the airport. I leaped out of the car and jumped up and down to dislodge the spider. The people in the queue gave me some strange looks. What is this madman doing? I called out "Huntsman" and half of the people in the queue nodded their heads. The rest were obviously tourists In normal circumstances it's quite good to have one of these wandering around your house. Like most spiders, they are venomous, but their venom is not likely to cause a problems for most people. You might get a septic spot or two if they bite. However, they are very good at ridding you of cockroaches

Richard.
