Wow JHfwp! You didn't waste anytime, your on it.

Another wonderful image to work with! This time I know where it is and don't have to ask. Here I used all three images processed with Photomatix and Lightroom 5.

I decided to give it a try with just one image - 171(b). I also used Photomatix and Lightroom 5 with this result. I also changed the crop slightly.

And finally (I hope) something different. Single image 171(c) processed in Photomatix and Lightroom 5.

A blend of the 3 exposures using Jimmy McIntyre's Raya Pro. A slight crop to make it more cinematic. A few tweaks using Raya and Greg Benz's Lumenzia.

To me the shot was all about the sun hitting the cliff face.

thanks for the challenge

Yes, in Yosemite Valley last winter. No precipitation whatsoever while we were there.

I probably took it pretty close to where the woman in the leather jacket is standing here.

Thanks for filling me in. Yosemite is on my bucket list. I'll get there one day.

Gee... what lousy luck to find yourself in such a boring location with nothing to take pictures of !!! Seriously.... AMAZING.
Hanging over my work desk, I am blessed with a four-foot wide (landscape) , early 20th c Norman Edson (use "the google") hand-tinted print of Mount Rainier. (similar to this link, but big and long - https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/11384228_norman-edson-wa-trail-to-paradise-hand-tinte ) anyway..... That was my inspiration for this great photo. THANKS for putting it out there for us!

How interesting. I PP'd this photo yesterday morning on my laptop. When I posted it to the web it looked ok, and more importantly I thought the other images looked very bright. I am now sitting in my office with my calibrated EIZO monitor and my image looks very very dark and the others look about right.

Lesson learned, get my laptop screen calibrated to match the EIZO, or don't post anything till I can give it the once over on the good monitor.

Is it within the rules to submit an edited copy of the pic?

wow such an amazing image! so well done that I didn't want to do much to it.. made two runs at it both using all three exposures...

this one started in photomatix then to rawtherapee then to gimp where I did some luminosity masking then a bit in Nik CE...

this one much the same as the above except started in hdrmerge instead of photomatix...
