Pollinators in action (if possible, please include info on equipment used, thanks)

I got the idea for this thread while experimenting with my K 3 and various lens taking pictures of flowers and insects at the Topeka Zoological Park.

my lens: smc PENTAX-DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL (1, 2, and last), and smc PENTAX-DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL + HD Pentax-DA 1.4x AW AF Rear Converter (all the rest)

My photos, and hopefully yours as well, ideally will feature flowers, insects, birds, bats and any other "pollinators" on or near each other. Multiple types/species at the same time BONUS

Mine, in fact, are cropped in from the originals but macro photography would work as well.

I hope you enjoy and will contribute

[ note, there is now a bif: Bug in flight thread

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/26-mini-challenges-games-photo-stories/3...ml#post4062263

as well that you might want to view and add to as well ]

I can play along with this thread... for months... (Thanks for the invite, Allen!)

A migrating Ruby-throated Hummingbird passing through my yard in SW Ohio on October 1st. The blooms are salvia leucantha, a fall-blooming annual in my area.

Shot, hand-held, with K-5IIs and DA*300

A Pearl Crescent butterfly on feeding on the blooms of asclepius curassavica 'Tropical Milkweed'. This plant is also a great attractor and host plant for Monarch butterflies.

Thanks very much for this thread.

This image was captured with one of my two older Pentax 100mm lenses on my K-S2.

as small of a pollinator as I have seen

this is as small of a pollinator as I have seen. I believe the ant is smaller than a fly

sorry about the soft focus, my target was the flowers, confession time: I actually didn't notice the ant until pp cropping of the original

I, personally, am blown away and yes, kinda jealous of the talents shown by the images being submitted by these posters.

it could be helpful to people if posters could include info on the equipment being used and any other pertinent data along with their images

thanks

Pollen, perhaps moistened with nectar, is on the hind legs.
