Originally posted by normhead I love that you're getting the 50 before the super zoom, I love my 18-135, but I bought my 50 first. I also think you're smart getting the ƒ1.4. My 50 ƒ1.8 gets used in low light situations where nothing else I have will work... given that, that seems to be it's main use (at least for me, my wife likes it as a walk around lens).. you may as well start with the ƒ1.4 and save yourself the years of thinking "I should have got the ƒ1.4 instead" that I've endured.
I have 30mm and 60mm f2.8 primes for my Panny so I am familiar with shooting with primes. I would eventually like to get the 18-135, but as you stated, need to cover low lighting situations better than with the kit lens.
I already ordered a 50mm f1.8. I got it for a great price $147 USD (coming from Canada). I think that will do me for awhile. Now I just need practice :-)
