Hello from Estonia

Hi from Tallinn! I have been Pentax user about 1 year. I just love the camera and looking forward to test new K3II. Hope the AF-C will work better than my K-30 does. If somebody has experience with it then I would like to get more information about k3II AF speed in real life. I use my camera almost every day. Love to capture playing and running dogs or anything that moves fast. I am big fan of pitbull type of dogs. Also into macros and night photography.

Best regards,
Peeter

Welcome, from Helsinki!

Regarding AF speed, both the lens and body matter. Usually, in the realm of Pentax, the lenses lag behind what the body can do. I only have two lenses, the DA20-40 limited and the DA*50-135. Neither are super fast in AF-C with the K-3, but in good light, they do a fine job tracking a subject across the frame. Approaching the camera, well, not so much.

But then again, the 50-135 is known to be sluggish. The new DFA*70-200 is supposed to be much faster, but it isn't out yet... and well beyond my price range.

Edit- by the way, nice dogs!

Welcome, Peeter! Those are some nice pictures! I especially like the sunset (or is that a sunrise?) on the beach. Very nice!

Thanks Finchj,
and very best regards to Helsinki!
I use mostly Tamron 70-200mm f2,8 and pentax 50mm f1,4 they both should be quick lenses. Do You think the AF should be faster with K-3. Is there any speed different between K3 and K3II in real life? Currently I use K-30.

I have to wait few days before I can upload my photoblog link here.
Until then I need to upload pictures one by one.
