Good day from Oz

Just thought i might join the Pentax Forums i am a serious Pentax user, i have K10 (retired) K7 still in use and my main camera now being a K3 which i am very happy with, my cameras get a huge work out being used every couple of days taking hundreds of photos weekly, at peak times hundreds of photos daily. I havern't come across to many problems using them, i usually bundle my way through, over the years (11) i have purchased four lenses a 16-50mm DA* and 50-135mm DA* two F4 lenses 17-70mm and 60-250mm all work well and deliver great photos. My 16-50mm has caused the most problems with the SDM motor been back once and needs to go back again.

Welcome!

By the way, you can use your retired K10D, to hack your DA*16-50 to work as a screw drive lens so you need never worry about SDM again. I am one of many here who have done it.

Look HERE if you interested in the details.

Welcome.
this is a good place to find out stuff, get help, and help others.
(It is also a good place to waste time, when you could be out taking pictures; therefore steer clear of the why I won't buy a K3 thread)

PS. Mark Jerling is one of the moderators that you have to be careful of: he is both a Saffa and a Kiwi.
It is a long time since I have seen him mention underarm bowling, but he can get a bit troppo when Oz beat either NZ or SA in sport.

Yes pathdoc the pattern will continue either with the K1 or might wait to see the next model, read ALL reviews and videos on the K1 still processing the info on the K1

Kerrowdown, i dont have names for my equipment, but i use the strengths of each lens and camera, i take photos of live country artists in Australia, usually set up is K7 with 17-70mm for wide angle of groups and stage and close ups of main singer with the K3 and 50-130mm. In low lighted situations the K3 and change lenses.
