Actually, if I decide not to go the route of the more expensive P&S with RAW, for the price I'd pay for a G9, I could pick up both a used 2nd body and an inexpensive P&S that the husband could use, as well. Having a second body could come in handy for those times where I want to use 2 lenses, but I don't want to keep switching out lenses, as well as being a backup to the K10.

I'm going to wait until Photokina to see what Pentax has up their sleeve. If they introduce a smaller, more basic body, then I may very well go that route and pick up something like the very basic, very inexpensive Canon A470, as it's basic enough that my husband can use it, too, plus it uses AA batteries.

This is almost as bad as deciding on which lenses to buy.
I may have to put up a poll when I'm about ready to buy and get the opinions of the collective wisdom around here.
