The National Gallery of Australia is nearby, that's probably the one you are thinking of. The NGA is now off my list of favourites, since they banned photography inside the Gallery. 
thanks also Chris and thanks for the correction - there are lots of buildings around there. Only seven for that building - I can imagine the size of their offices
Shame about the national gallery as Kris said. I found that a lot on our travels and while in Broken Hill, I took several pictures of Pro Harts Rolls Royce that he painted in an Australian theme which looked really good. Upon entering the gallery I was told in a no uncertain manner that photography is NOT allowed in the gallery. When we left my wife noticed cameras outside so the receptionist had probably seen me taking the shots of the roller
