They are cheap enough that you could try it out and tell us what you think.
I only paid about $10.00 for my Super Takumar 55mm f1.8. It does have a different quality to it then my M 50mm f1.4, and the A 50mm f2.0 that I have used. The bokeh is very unique on the 55mm f1.8, it is a little soft wide open and sharpens up nicely stopped down a few clicks.
