Linking from Flickr

FYI, in the new Flickr interface you get the BBCODE by clicking on the share icon, then the "pin" icon. I have no idea how a "pin" is supposed to relate to BBCode but there you have it. You need to use the BBCODE to embed the image from Flickr in the Pentax Forums - it's actually against the TOS to link directly to the image without having a hyperlink to Flickr as well.

I think all the flickr bbcodes from the sharing page link back to flickr. They wrap a URL tag around the IMG tag, which brings up the flickr page when the image is clicked.

You're right. The reason I mentioned it is because elsewhere on Pentax Forums, someone describes a method of directly linking the URL from Flickr which is contrary to the TOS. I posted here because I didn't find the new interface as clear about how to get a BBCODE string as the old interface.

Yes they do, but after pasting the code into a reply here (or anywhere else) I usually edit out the URL stuff and leave only the IMG tags and the picture link.

You can, but it's contrary to the Flickr TOS.

You use a push pin to stick something to a bulletin board...

OK, I'll buy that. It's not intuitive to me without an explanation though.

Didn't make sense to me either until I read that on the Flickr support forum.

After you click the share icon you have to click the push pin icon.

...and eventually the bots from Flickr will kill the link. It is best to simply leave the URL tags in place. Besides, it has the added benefit of leading interested people to your photostream where they will leave you lots of money and cheese!

Many, many thanks I've done it and added my photos under the heading "On any Sunday"

I liked your Cardinal, and left you a chunk of cheese and a bottle of wine. If you like mine, you can leave me a bottle of fine Cognac?

Regards!

Damn the TOS!

I guess I should go back and re-read that, huh?

You may evade the hociR, but the TOS will find you in the end
