Logic would seem to dictate that going from unreliable to reliable rules out interchangeability of the parts.... On the other hand, I do know that there are components in the mirror linkage mechanism of the AP that are also prone to failure. This is why you find so many with the mirror flipped up. The part is exactly the same part as in the SV, a much later model that did not have the problem. The difference appears to be that in the AP it is made of mild steel and in the SV it is made of hardened steel.
