The D90@ 1000USD when launched will battle with K20D which will already be at that price by then if not lower. And hopefully the new K1D will better the features and IQ of D90 (for more money) and all we need would be a weather resistant zoom (something like DA 18-135) to have our own trump cards.

Well the 40d is already under 1000USD. Sure it is one year old and 2mp less, but it also has 2.5 more fps and some weathersealing. I doubt d90 will have the af of d300 though.
