"netbook" is a term used for a small notebook style computer specifically designed with email and netsurfing applications in mind. A "notebook" is generally a portable computer that will perform like a desktop computer. see wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netbook

Heres an example of a "netbook":

Sylvania G Netbook Notebook PC - VIA C7-M ULV Processor 1.2GHz, 802.11bg Wireless, 1GB DDR2, 30GB HDD, 7" WVGA, Integrated Webcam, Linux Based gOS Operating System GNET13001 at TigerDirect.com

"netbooks" usually have minimal ram, a slower processor and are about 1/2-3/4 the size of a notebook. hope this helps
