For me the hood ornament isn't completely sharp on the tip (paws and head), and if it could have been, maybe changing your angle slightly, that would have helped it to go with the dof to fade from front to back more evenly. Still a great shot though.
Your spider shot has got to be one of my favorite spider shots I have ever seen! awesome. I could imagine you playing with the pp to see what you could do to make the spider stand out even more...
