Hi from Indianapolis!

Hello all. I am obviously new to the forums and also somewhat new to the (this) world of photography. I am a college student in Indianapolis, IN and my classes start next week. I am enrolled in an "intro to photography" class and it is the first class of my college career that I have taken simply because "I feel like it." I am truly excited about it. I recently acquired a K1000 SE, that has been bouncing around my extended family for probably the past 10 years, from my uncle. I also picked up a Hanimex 135mm lens from an antique shop over the weekend for cheap. I have been reading up as much as I can on the subject and have already purchased the text required for the class.

My past experience includes a three week photography class when I was in middle school. Don't remember much of that, but got some dark-room time with who I thought was a very lovely young lady. Also, I love snapping pictures with my P&S and have loads of experience in snapping half-drunken party shots. ...not sure how much that counts for.

I have a very impulsive personality and constantly go through phases and interests, often to the annoyance of my girlfriend, family, friends, etc. I believe that this behavior causes me to have minute knowledge of a broad number of topics. Hopefully this does not become one of those interests.

I initially had a question to go along with this post, but I've already found the answer. Guess this is just an introduction thread, then.

I would also like to say that I am active on several discussion forums and from what I have seen, this forum seems to attract contributors who are by far the most open-minded, intelligent, and generally nice people. Of course, the other forums are automotive related...
