Now that is very, very good news. Not so much that it is there but that Ricoh and Adobe got it done.

Looking forward to trying it out.

Cool! Too bad HDR RAW is not supported, but at least there users have easily available alternatives.

No support for pixel-shift in LR yet, unless I am reading the announcement wrong - just ACR/Photoshop.

Link is to the Lightroom blog though. Checking now in Lightroom to see if any new updates are available.

Yep. The download version of LR with this version of ACR will follow soon enough.

What does it mean it supports the pixel shift?
I can't get it, isn't the result of pixel shift a RAW file like a normal shot?

I've been using the HDR Raw file of my K-3 so far, and it's like other raws with more DR! and more room to push.
Should there be anything more?

No, unfortunately not. That would have been nice. Instead, the file has four embedded images with the intent that they be merged in software at a later time. The Pentax DCU software will handle this nicely, but Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) was unable to deal with either the Pentax-generated DNG or the PEF version RAW file. Adobe failed over by extracting only one of the four images.

This was the topic of extensive discussion on this site and for K-3II owners the announcement from Adobe is very good news indeed.

Great. I'll be testing this ASAP. To be honest, I hadn't expected Adobe to come up with PS support at all. Esp given they did not support in-camera HDR, but in retrospect that's explained by the HDR merge feature they built into LR later on, i.e. they didn't want to compete with one of their own new features...

Anyway, I might have some time this evening. All I need is a subject to shoot first...

Here's a 100% crop showing what LR 6.1.1 does to a pixel shift image with moving water:

Here's the same portion of the same image, straight out of the camera:

(Not the identical crop -- I just eyeballed it.)

The camera onboard algorithm does a pretty good job of eliminating the false colors. An excellent job, actually. Note that there are still some checkerboard artifacts, both on the waves and on the bird in flight in the upper right portion.

When I took the shots I remembered seeing the magenta/green colors on the instant preview -- but upon later playback/download they were gone.
