Sigma 70-200 F2.8 OS

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Sigma 70-200 F2.8 OS

Asking Price
$1150 --> $1100 now

Item Location
Ames, Iowa (United States)

Item Description
This is the latest OS version. Fantastic lens. Images quality at f2.8 is already very good, if not tack sharp. From f4, the IQ is just great. Sweetest spot in my experiences are from f5.6 to f8. HSM motor is silent, fast, and reliable! Perfect for sports and portrait.

Lens was bought in last summer, and is in mint condition. The only reason I didn't list it as new is I replaced the rear cap with a pentax one, because the sigma rear cap is just a pain. Sales will also include lens hood, extension ring, case, box, all documents.

Asking $1100, including shipping expense, buyer please add 3% paypal fee.

I do not understand why you say it is sharp at f4. I have this lens in a Canon mount and it is absolutely sharp at f2.8. In fact, it is better than the Canon 70-200 f2.8 Mark I, it ties with the Mark II. Unbelievable lens for sport, acton, indoor, etc. With the 1.4TC Sigma gives you excellent 100-300 on a crop sensor like the K5.

Thanks, Pepe.
Yeah. I know exactly what you meant.
This lens is indeed sharp at f2.8, and maybe shows slightly a little softness at extreme corners, but it is a constant 2.8 zoom, that's what is expected.

I just tried to be conserved a little bit purely from a pixel-peeper point of view, and hopefully can make the buyer a little happier when he/she checks out the lens.

I've got the non OS version in Pentax mount and love this lens. It is my second favourite lens next to my DA 70 ltd.
