There are of course many variables and often the most important one, light, is not under your control. However, if you implement as many of these 100 landscape photography tips as possible then you will be on your way to more consistent and better quality results.

I'm sure they're helpful, but...

One hundred?! I can't even follow a list of ten tips!

I'm doomed.

A lot of them are repeated. He has 10 main categories, that is really a step wise process. I think that the 100 was just for a big body count.

"10) Give yourself mental breaks from the camera - go back to observation".

Good tip. I just wonder how, still trying...

I often use a "Lunch break". I put the camera away, in my backback, lens detached from body etc. Just sitting there in the environment, making sandwiches, eating lunch, it actually checks several of his boxes it seems.

For sunrise and sunset pics, I'm obsessive about getting to the location 90 minutes prior as a minimum. And it's very unusual for me to photograph an area I haven't already looked at 15-20 times in google earth. I'll mentally walk a trail or find a path that leads me to the spot I think I want to shoot from.

I've also learned to trust my first instincts, because more often that not, if I over think things, the images don't work. I've done that several times recently. I had spots picked out and then I started moving around and ran out of time. When going back through the images, my initial spot was great, but the lighting wasn't good. But once the lighting was good, I wasn't in the right spot!

Unfortunately I have the same short attention span. Maybe some with more attention to such details will share the highlights with the rest of us.

If you scan through it, most of it is stuff the average guy already does, this guy however was really good at laying it out there. I might do a lot of those things, but I would never have been able to get them all down on paper.
