Highly variable lens colour profiles

Hi all. Just getting to grips with the 6545z. I've managed to lay my hands on a full range of lenses from 25mm to 400mm.

I'm finding huge variation between lenses and their natural colour profiles (esp between A,FA & DA). Anyone else noticed/struggling with this? Any advice?

I have not noticed any color variations with my 645D (FA35, FA75, A120, FA200). But I'm doing landscapes so any slight color shift can be easily hidden.
How did you test for the color shift?

Shot the same scene (of a city) with a range of lenses. Very obvious viewing side by side with same profile. Some good, others not so.

I've noticed a difference in color between the 35A and 25mm D FA as well, but shoot landscapes, so it isn't a big deal. I can't say the difference is consistent or not, just something I unscientifically noticed while shooting. That's with the D, I don't have a Z.

Yes , I have noticed that the FA lenses tend to match to each other pretty well and the A lenses to each other also. In the 67 lenses all the ones with serial numbers starting in 87 or 88 tend to match to each other pretty well, not so much matching with ones that start with 84 85 or 86.

And any lens in 645 or 67 of any variety , if it is ED , it doesn't match anything but another ED lens.

As Ryan would say those are my unscientific observations.

Even though optical glass appears to be colorless, certain glasses can have very slight color. If say there is a slight aquamarine color to an element, that will block orange to a slight degree. Any element with a given color will block the opposite color on the color wheel slightly. The newly developed glasses could easily have a different look when compared with the older ones used in the 70's. My 165LS for the 67 has a slightly different look than my 45mm.
