I do agree. I'm using this big lens quite often to 'pull in' scenes that I can't really get to safely. Except for its weight and idiosyncratic modus-operandi, I have no quibble with the optical performance. For the 90mm, I much prefer the ordinary 2.8 version.
While multiexposures cannot be used with the 165LS as they can on the 90LS (and this has disappointed some photographers), an on-body Pentax factory modification of the 67 body to allow multiexposures (where fitted — not very common) gets around this deftly. The lens is none the wiser for what the camera is getting up to, and no harm is occasioned the lens or the camera with this procedure.
