Pentax (Europe) to finance @ 0% - 645Z with £5,000 on lenses

Interesting. This is the first time I've seen Pentax do this kind of financing deal for their cameras.

It's not surprising. Ricoh do the same for customers who want to buy their office equipment. As do Canon.

It's never really interest-free. You pay for the loan in the deal price of the camera and lenses.

If you pay cash you have to account for opportunity cost (what you would have earned with the money otherwise), so nothing is ever really money-cost free.

Yes but that applies to everything in life not just cameras.

I think it's a great way to start from scratch - providing you can get the lenses you want. Prices are normal UK prices: £6799, so more than US price but this is depressingly normal. I tried hard not to look at the Japanese price when I was in Tokyo earlier in the year. Failed. around £2k cheaper than what I paid, but by then I had had 2 months of great usage from it.
