Here you go: SMC/S-M-C/Super Takumar 50mm F1.4 Reviews - M42 Screwmount Normal Primes - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database
If it is in good shape, no fungus, no scratches these old 50mm's are excellent lenses. Assuming you are comfortable shooting with M42 glass.

Has it been de-yellowed? If not be prepared to leave it exposed to UV light for a few weeks.

I did an analysis of Ebay prices for the Super Takumar 50mm F1.4 within the last year, I think the average was about $110 excluding shipping, but there is usually a wide standard deviation in the range of prices say of about $30 (meaning for example that about half the actual sales prices you might see on Ebay in a couple month period might range in the $80-140 range around the $110 average). So $89 would not be a bad price, assuming the lens is in good shape. Of course, pay close attention to the description, avoid any lens with problems noted mentioning fungus, scratches on rear element, oil or stickiness on the diaphragm blades, or focus that is not smooth. Know that this lens is slightly radioactive (hence the yellowed color), some people are concerned about that. Also note that you can obtain the also very good Pentax-M K-mount 50mm (either F1.4 or F1.7) for much lower prices, maybe down to half or less of the M42 50/1.4. The newer Pentax-M lenses are not radioactive and are a little more compact.

I grew up using a Super-Tak 55mm F1.8 on my Spotmatic, always wondered if I would have liked the other standard lens for this camera (the 50mm F1.4). Watched Ebay for a long time waiting for a good deal, finally gave up and got the two Pentax-M's I just mentioned. Can't use them on my Spotmatic, but I got a bunch of other Super-tak's on Ebay that I can use on the old camera. The new 50mm's work great, though, on my Sony NEX-5N and on my new Pentax K-50.

Good Luck!

I got two Supertaks (50 and 135mm) for about $60 with Pentax spotmatic camera set. It may be useful to search not for the lens specifically, but for cameras with which lenses are common. The only drawback will be so many unwanted cameras

Thanks. All good suggestions. I am now sorry that I sold my prime Pentax 50mm 1.4. But I sold it for more than I paid for it and really don't do many portraits .....but still.....

Welcome to the Pentax Forums!

You probably can't post a "Wanted" ad in the Marketplace yet, but that will often yield results
