Apature problem with DA*16-50

I took my K30 and DA*16-50 on a road trip and was getting all pictures outdoors over exposed, I had to manually adjust all my settings. I thought that my tired K30 had finally died. When I got home I attached the lens to my K50 and had the same problem, to make things easy I set the cameras to auto and both produced over exposed images. I recently purchased a used K3 and thought I give the DA*16-50 a try, it also produced over exposed images on auto. I thought it was time to look at the lens, I have not dropped the lens and it has been stored in a Pelican case when not in use. I noticed that the lever that controls the aperture was hard to move and did not snap back like before. Is this an easy fix and worth having done ?

You might try contacting Eric or DCShooter about a CLA. I don't know if anything more would be needed. I'm not sure if you are in the USA if not then a local repair shop might be able to do likewise.

I had exactly the same problem with my DA 70 Limited. Aperture blades were sluggish or sticky and did not snap closed when I released the lever on the back of the lens. I ended up sending the lens to Eric Hendrickson and he fixed it, a little less costly than KEH quoted for the same repair and a lot less than Precision quoted. The lens is fine now.
