K-1 Out of box issue

Just took my long awaited K-1 out of the box and there appears to some minor movement/shifting inside body when I move it from side to side. Have not had time to read manual, but this does not seem normal, Could it be related to the sensor shift? Thanks for any input.

Thanks. Never noticed it on my K-30, but it is there, too. Now let's charge up the battery so I can get out first thing in the morning.

It is part of Shake reduction and Sensor Cleaning - the sensor floats. Been in every one of mine since 2007 or 06 I forget. 1st time I heard it I thought I'd broken it.

I think it might have been my K-20D that I had first noticed something like that.

Normal. Mentioned this in a video for YouTube and everyone thought I was mistaken. Lol they obviously didn't own the camera.

Yep, strange when you first hear and feel it, but normal. Don't worry and start shooting !

I thought from the title that you were having problems getting the camera out of the box ! Now that WOULD have been a new one here.

Given how often this question comes up maybe Pentax should put a label on the inside of every camera box that says " If you hear something shaking inside your camera, don't panic, it's quite normal"

It seems a bit louder on the K1. I expect the sensor block is heavier.

Perhaps this could be made a sticky, for all new comers to find quickly and easily, to put worried minds at rest.

I bet many a Pentax has been returned to retailers after the buyer discovered this 'defect' in their camera.
