Shutter releases very slowly

Hello

I bought my Pentax KS2 less than one year ago. It's been working fine up until about a month ago when I noticed that the shutter won't release when I press the button or will release very slowly (I have to keep the button pressed for longer than 1-2 seconds until it releases). Sometimes it releases normally, but most of the time it doesn't.

What could be causing this? Thoughts on how to fix it?

Could it be that you've inadvertently switched to 2 second timer mode?

No, it's not that

Like I said...sometimes it works properly but most of the time it doesn't.

If you have set the shutter to 'focus priotity' in the menu, the camera will wait for focus confirmation before releasing the shutter. Could it be that?
