k-x auto iso safe shutter speed setting?

in my k-x, is there a way to set the safe shutter speed value when set to auto iso? (under av mode)

it seems like the shutter is fixed on 1/60, and will start booting up the iso when it goes below 1/60.
can i set it to 1/30 or 1/200 in any case? i can't seem to find a setting in the menu.

thank you.

On the K-x, there's no setting for that really as far as I can tell, about the best you can do is using Tv and setting your shutter speed that way or P mode and use the presets.

On some other bodies (K20d, K7, K5) there's a TAv mode which allows you to set both the aperture and shutter and use auto iso.

i see, no wonder i saw a Tav mode when i test the k5 in B&H, was wondering what it is.
Tv mode is a bit hard to use in many situation, since i do want to take control of the aperture.

The speed depends on the lense, when i put a 28mm it set 1/60 when i put a 50mm it set to 1/125.

Auto iso (100-800) + Av mode is generally good.

Hi

There is a way to do it, when in P mode. When on the subject first put in AE-L then use
the wheel to change the speed and F stop, the auto ISO will follow. If the AE is not locked
the camera will change back the settings by itself. Remember to remove from AE-L and press the Green button to get out of Program Shift.

aurele: juz tested wit my 55-300 kit, and yes it seems like it will auto the shutter speed too
at 55 it sets to 1/100 and at 300 it sets to 1/400

bobpur: i tried and the wheel doesn't change anything under P mode

The wheel does a program shift, you will see the word shift appear to the right of the P
on the LCD screen. Does not indicate in the view finder.
The AE-L button should be set in the camera " C " menu item #10 to 4 to be AE Lock.
The Program shift works without this BUT the camera will fall out of it if there is even
a slight light change, with Ae locked you will have manual control of the exposure.
What I would like to do is lock the speed without the camera always picking the widest
aperture !
