Petition - Please allow KAF4 firmware for the K3, K5 series, and K50

I may as well get this started because there's plenty of interest. Who knows, it may work! I would like for Ricoh to keep the famed Pentax backwards compatibility alive and please allow KAF4 firmware for the K3, K5 series, and K50. I don't know if there are hardware limitations for the latter ones, but the K3 and K3II are basically the same camera with a few differences, and Ricoh themselves said the K3II was not a replacement for the K3.

Got it for the K3 and K50!

From what I've read so far, it's probably likely not possible due to hardware differences.

It is about as likely as adding pixel shift, but add my name.

Mine as well for the K-5, if at all possible. If not, a clear statement explaining what the hardware incompatibilities in the cameras are would be nice.

Is this the petition or are you going to do a petition on a website designed for petitioning?

If this is it, add my name.

I don't know, maybe.
But first, what is KAF4 firmware?

I have a hunch that they might already be updating the K-3, just haven't said so in the K-70 press release.

Doubt anything will happen for the K-50 or K-5, though.

If possible, yes please. But if it isn't possible because of hardware, oh well.

Sorry about a dumb question:

What would it do?

I hope you are right about the K-3. There will be people rejoicing in the street if that happens. Well I will rejoice in the street, or close to it. Perhaps in my house would be best.....

Enable electronic aperture control with KAF4 lenses since those will not have an aperture lever. Otherwise you'd be stuck with wide open.

I really hope you're right about the K3 because I definitely use it along with my K1!

I already know there's no hope for my K-01, but I already made it a specialty camera even more than it was before.
