"According to the argument I have heard, K-7 single-fuselage just in the Chinese market price should be listed and listed price is not too much K20D, is expected to more than RMB8000 point, I hope soon be able to reduced to less than 8000, so the competition can be opponents gathered more destructive of the market."

And:

"Pentaprism add some design changes are obvious, many of the design of the original curve into a more masculine line, the K-7 there is a small but Yingwu feeling."

Can anyone explain "Yingwu feeling"?
yingwu basically means handsome and stiff.

Currently "822 Viewing" the News and Rumours thread. I'd say the new product has created a lot of buzz! (It would be interesting to see what the maximum viewing is...)

I think this thing looks spectacular. I just got a K20D so I won't be upgrading just yet, but I'm very satisfied with the direction Pentax is taking with this. Magnesium body, what looks to be the best APS-C viewfinder on the market, enhanced weather proofing, etc. I'm glad to see the megapixel count has stopped, and I'm expecting the high ISO noise to be noticeably better. The weather-proofed kit lens is one of those obvious strokes of genius that is bound to appeal to a lot of potential new users.

Great work Hoya, color me impressed.

i got the impression the d300 vf was larger. seems they kept about the same size? increasing coverage but reducing magnification from the k20

I can't speak for the D300, but the K-7 vf should be a bit bigger than the K20D, something like 2%.

I see, hopefully. Well am still very happy about 100% that was something I wanted. tired of painstakingly composing a shot to just barely exclude some unwanted element in a corner only to find it was still in the resulting shot

VF mystery explained (days ago)

putting ogl's posted diagram of the the K-7's new viewfinder system together with RuiC's previously cryptic written explanation, the K-7's 'secret' VF feature now makes sense.

i'm pretty sure it's real folks.

Also, to really sweep the competition, Pentax should have gone a bit further:

- Red pattern AF assist
- Articulated screen
- 1/250 sync instead of the antiquated 1/180. If they managed to pull it off 15 years ago with the Z1 / PZ1, then what's preventing them from doing it now? In fact, the APS-C frame should make it an easier job. If they can't do it mechanically, then they should do it electronically. The old Nikon D70 went as high as 1/500 using this method, so Pentax should be able to do the same.

Prog.
I don't see how that's going further, at least with respect to the competition. All those are mere copying of other cameras' already-existing features.

Damn! It looks good. Almost too good to get wet!

What will it mean for lenses? will we get a WR version of everything? or just a few?
I've been buying glass and holding off getting a body upgrade (still on k100d - if it aint broke.....) and this is what i have been waiting for. I have wanted K20d performance and km size. I get MORE!
