Great shots!!! What did you use, Dr Who?

Just a quick update - I got a Pentax K 300mm f4 and again, the 1.7x TC just produced a softer image without adding any detail, while the 55-300mm was very very close to the 300mm when both were used without the TC.

I thought the prime would be significantly sharper, being a serious chunk of glass, and I thought the TC would work better with it. Wrong on both counts!

1. Pentax K 300mm with TC last night
2. Pentax FA 55-300mm without TC
3. Pentax K 300mm without TC
