The governement treats our Vets horribly. My husband has been fighting for his compensation since he retired in 2005. He has 2 prostetic discs in his back, is in constant pain so he cannot get a job, was interviewed by a VA rep who said he was unemployable, and had a heart attack 23 days after his retirement. The VA gave him 30% and said his back would get better. He's still fighting them. They eventually gave him a little bit more... now 60%. His heart is no better. He had an arterial fibrillation in May and found out that the reason is is that he is not getting an oxygen while sleeping. He stops breathing. He was tested for that while in the Navy and they said he didn't have it. And he's also on Coumidin. He's only 43 years old, pissed off and depressed that he can't even go out and get a job to support his family. We can't even take an family trips or do the things we used to because he's in pain all the time. Yet the government doesn't care. They do the same thing to those who are coming home from Iraq.
