Govt treatment of vets has less to do with the person in the top job than we think.
Civvies are just as accountable to their neglect in society.

Though Aussie vets are well treated IMO, both by the public and the govt...
There's always support for them in every aspect.
There are parallels between the Vietnam war and the Iraq war, both were wars that nobody wanted, apart from the people at the top and the corporations that made the weapons.
Veterans of the Vietnam war were treated shamefully by many civilians but I think in the case of the Iraq war, there is a lot more compassion theses days.
