I never gave a thought about Pentax converting from K mount to a modern M42 across their entire range.

I truly believe that a smaller, 'retro' styled digital SLR body with a fully functional FF m42 mount would cause a shitstorm among consumers. you would have pentax, canon, nikon, olympus, etc fans all clambering for such a body to use the plethora of m42 lenses available. like it or not, old ideas on body and lens design are coming back into fashion and pentax would be smart to cash in on a segment that they could easily dominate, while still retaining the K mount. we know they can, at least style wise do it, (the AP 50th Anniversary Edition) they already have the engineering aspect down for the m42, and its clear (has been for a long time) that pentax has the ability to make a smaller lighter weight camera than the competition. they could do it, easily....
I don't know how you presently occupy your time, but it would benefit us all greatly if you would do us the favor of applying for, and acquiring, the CEO position at Pentax. You could certainly count on me (and a great many others at this site, I'm sure) for a glowing recommendation.
