How the Obama was so vocal on Iraq yet when the surge worked he denied it. Now that the Iraqi's have taken control (so to speak) Michael Jackson has the headlines and the Obama barely makes mention of our troops coming home.
I hope that we don't treat the Veterans coming home the same way we treated the Viet Nam Veterans.
There is a debate currently going on whether the surge was the real reason for the decrease in violence or whether it was ethnic cleansing on a neighborhood by neighborhood level which finally brought a somewhat stable environment.
The surge occurred at the same moment when the ethnic cleansing was peaking, its going to be difficult if not impossible to tell which was ultimately responsible for the success we've seen.
