Windows 7 USB driver for Optio S4i

Had to post this here as the camera forum is not accepting new posts ????

I need a USB driver for windows 7 (64bit)

Have searched internet but only old driver for xp seems available and other forums suggest windows vista didn't need a USB driver as one built in to the OS.

I have win 7 laptop & am mortified I can't download my latest photos to it.

I love my optio s4i and it has served me well.

HELP PLEASE....................

Can anyone suggest where I can find a driver?

I am waiting for pentax live chat to ask them but they are not at work yet it appears due to different time zone from New Zealand.......

sigh................

Not sure why you couldn't post to the camera forum, but I'm moving this thread to there.

And you shouldn't need one in Windows 7 either. Doesn't that camera have a memory card you save your photos to? I use a card reader as it's simpler than using the USB adapter and doesn't drain my batteries like the adapter will do.

Hi

had the same problem with my S4i.
Changing camera menue from PC-connection to Pictbridge is worth a try.

Just connect the camera to the PC with the USB cable, then switch the camera on.
The PC will recognize the connection and install the required driver automatically.
This could take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two for the first time.
When done, it will "see" your camera as another drive and you can copy your pictures across.
