It's rare to see a camera selling for less than half of the original price. That's definitely a steal!

Wow! That's tempting. The one big turn off mentioned in reviews is the amount of time required to write Raw files.

I just sold my MX-1. But it was almost painful to do so. However, I just wasn't using it because I have too much gear and I am in the process of paring things down. Make no mistake: The MX-1 is a lovely camera and is a great deal at this price. There's very little risk here.

I just bought mine for $249.99 on Sunday from amazon and received it tuesday. While I got it for a tiny bit more, I still think I got a great deal. I have only played with it in the house (rainy days) but I know I will love it more when I get a chance for some real world use. Its a beautiful camera, great build and HEAVY. Its a solid one I tell ya. I can't wait for the brass to start to peeking through the silver.

The slowness is certainly a drawback that we couldn't forgive at the original $500 price point. At $229 it's much more bearable though, I'd say!

Adam, I confess that I'm tempted because it is a good price.

But I keep telling myself to save the money for the 08 lens to go with my Q7.

The MX-1 is a whole lot of camera at this price; it's a tremendous bargain. I am tempted to get a second.

I don't know how you manage to find these "hidden" deals on Adorama. If you type in MX-1 or Pentax MX-1 using Adorama's search box, the silver version does not appear at all and the black one shows up as discontinued. Anyway, excellent deal for a great camera, it is really tempting me a lot at this price...

One thing to note is that the lens on this thing is extremely good at wide apertures.

I'll second the lens!! The MX-1 easily replaces the Q/02 combo in every way. It's faster, sharper, quicker to focus and has more reach too. This is a no-brainer!

What a bargain! I was out and about with mine today, just editing the RAW files now and the image quality is outstanding.
