Wow! That's an amazing price! I bet nobody is losing money along the way here either. Margins may be thin but they're still present. This makes me wonder how much the margins are on the higher priced lenses ... and how much lower the prices can be. We'll be seeing a surge of photos taken with this lens in a few months.

Good deal!!

This thing just keeps on getting cheaper. Unless you're scraping pennies, there's almost no reason not to have one as part of your kit.

Seems like only yesterday (nearly 3 years ago actually) this lens was considered a bargain for $209.

Or you already have 23 50mm lenses...including the FA 50/1.7...

I'm sure it's a great lens.. but I'm just used to with the ability to use a manual Aperture setting, a distance scale, and a DoF guide. But if I didn't have a 50, this is pocket change. I wouldn't even have to eat Kraft Dinner for a week to buy it.

The falling prices at B&H are killing me. I ordered a Pentax DA 20-40 4 days ago and haven't received it yet, but today the price is 50 bucks cheaper. I did something I've never done before. I requested a credit for the difference. We'll see.

B&H has given credits due to price drops that happened within 30 days of purchase. You should be OK.

What type of shooting would this lens be best for and why?

Low light situations, it will Auto focus in very low light.

Like those in a bat cave...

It's also a nice every day walk around kind of lens... for landscapes...

Pictures of your dog

Pictures of your garden...

And just everyday kind of shooting.

These are taken with an FA 50, but the DA should be just as useful.

One reason not to buy this lens is to avoid having 23 nifty fifties to begin with. Once you have that many, one more would only be adding 4.35% more to your collection.

Their policy includes a 30-day price guarantee, so you should ask for a credit every time that happens
