Damn. If I didn't recently get a Metz Mecablitz 52 AF-1 (which I love, by the way), I'd seriously consider this deal.

Thank you for posting - just bought one to replace the old 540 which is now dedicated to Better Beamer.

Until sold out? This model is fairly recent but could Ricoh have something new in production for the FF?

Until B&H's current stock is gone.

I've been looking for a flash and this is very tempting. I noticed that Adorama is also selling it for 362.50 but they show the "regular" price as $439, not $629. What do these, really, normally go for when not on sale?

$629 might be what it started out as when the flash first came to market. B&H is trying to make you think its an even better deal than it is I guess

guys, is there really big difference between 360 and 540? I'm not really going to melt something in 50m but this offer is very attractive. Can't decide which model to buy as 360 has also droped price right now.

If all you wanted was fill flash, Lev, fine, the 360 acts as a lower powered 540.

But the 540 lets you swivel so it can be bounced off walls to produce a 3D lighting effect on your subject.

If you have two flashes in a master/slave or controller arrangement the swiveling becomes important too.

thanks, clackers, but as far as specs show 360 also swivels, or do I miss something?

The II version certainly does! Weather sealed and with modelling light, too.
